MATCH REPORT AND RESULTS

Although fairly hilly and undulating, riding in buggies proved to be a good call, and there were no serious complaints or heart failures over the two days, so it could be claimed that this years little jaunt was a success.

Apart from the major cock up from the pro shop in not putting out the markers for the NP and LD as requested, the Hotel was very comfortable and the staff very efficient and helpful. Dinner was up to the usual standard,apart from the outlandish prices for mediocre wine, and the sandwich, soup and chips after match meal  was greeted with approval all round.

With 23 players, including 4 guests, we set off to slaughter the main Hellindon Lakes 18 hole course with high hopes and a bag full of golf balls. The course is an interesting challenge, but not easy as most of us discovered to our dismay at the end of the first day. Some played better than others as the results table will confirm, but generally we all seemed to have a good time and a certain amount of fun, which is really what GHOFAT is all about.
